Chitthi Aayi Hai: CoverSure & India Post Revive Inland Letters to Boost Insurance Awareness

MUMBAI : Insurtech platform CoverSure has partnered with India Post to launch #ChitthiAayiHai, a nationwide campaign using inland letters to improve insurance awareness and claim preparedness.
In phase 1, 10,000 barcode-enabled inland letters will reach families across *15 cities*, helping policyholders share key details like policy numbers, nominee info, coverage, TPA contacts, and cashless hospital lists with their families.
The letters introduce trackable, secure communication while retaining the simplicity of traditional letter writing.
The initiative revives a trusted, emotional channel to tackle a critical gap: despite rising insurance adoption, 60% of dependents don’t know they’re covered, and Rs. 8,973.89 cr in unclaimed benefits were pending as of 28 Feb 2026.
CoverSure found that many families still preserve 30-50-year-old inland letters, making them ideal for storing vital insurance information safely.
Each letter includes a dedicated space for policy details, converting scattered documents, emails, and apps into a single, easy-to-find record at home.
The campaign also engages industry experts to drive broader conversations on insurance literacy, beneficiary awareness, and family-level financial security.
“Insurance should not stay locked in documents or apps. Families must know where it is and how to use it when needed,” said Saurabh Vijayvargiya, Founder & CEO, CoverSure.
Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, India Post Maharashtra Circle, said, “This is more than a letter – it’s a message of financial awareness and preparedness delivered through India’s most trusted network.”
The campaign supports the national goal of ‘Insurance for All 2047’ by making insurance information accessible, offline, and family-ready when it matters most.
