Mumbai: Reinforcing its commitment to creating lasting social impact, BD India/South Asia, in partnership with the HOPE Foundation, celebrated the successful completion of eight years of its youth skill development initiative in East Delhi.

As part of the programme, 264 young adults graduated this year after completing vocational courses in Nursing Assistant and Tally. The students were felicitated with certificates and trophies in recognition of their dedication and achievements during a special graduation ceremony attended by representatives from both organizations.

Launched in 2018, the initiative aims to equip economically disadvantaged youth with industry-relevant skills and improve their employability. Over the past eight years, the programme has trained more than 2,200 young people, with over 1,750 securing employment opportunities, reflecting an impressive placement rate of over 80 percent. Women constitute a significant share of the beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Atul Grover, Managing Director, BD India/South Asia, said the partnership with the HOPE Foundation has helped create sustainable livelihood opportunities for hundreds of young people. He noted that hearing the success stories of graduates and witnessing the positive impact on their confidence and career prospects was truly inspiring.

KS. Wungchipem (Apem), Director – Skill Development, North & East India, HOPE Foundation, highlighted that the collaboration has enabled youth to gain practical skills, industry exposure and access to meaningful employment. He described the programme as a successful example of how corporate-community partnerships can drive long-term social change.

Encouraged by the impact achieved so far, BD India and the HOPE Foundation have renewed their partnership for a ninth year. The upcoming phase aims to train 320 youth through Nursing Assistant and Tally courses, while also introducing a new Advanced Excel + SQL programme to broaden career opportunities in the digital economy.

The three-month training courses are offered free of cost to students who have passed Class 10 and demonstrate financial need. In addition to technical training, participants receive instruction in English communication, life skills and practical workplace readiness. Nursing Assistant trainees also undergo six months of on-the-job training at reputed hospitals.

Through this sustained initiative, BD India and the HOPE Foundation continue to empower young adults with the skills, confidence and opportunities needed to build sustainable careers and brighter futures.
